Audio Guide

If you are planning to walk the path on your own and you don’t want to miss any of the sights and stories on the route then you can download our Audio Guide to your mobile phone and you will have a virtual guide with you all the way. Iain Tweedale is an expert guide on the route and has a wealth of stories, insights, songs, poems and reflections that automatically play when you reach that location. All you need to do is pop in your ear bud.

Here’s how you can access it:

On the Route (Smartphone)

Download the Outdooractive app and then create an account. Go to the webpage for the stage on our website and click on ‘Open Map in Outdooractive App’. IMPORTANT – ensure that the audio guide is enabled on the Outdooractive app (go to Map – see the headphones on right – click to enable and a small green dot on icon shows it is turned on). Then when you come in range of any audio clips, they will automatically play or you can just click on the Highlight icons or Headset icons showing on the map.

Read more about using the Outdooractive app

At Home (Smartphone or Computer)

You can also listen to the audio directly from this website even when you’re not on the route itself. On each Stage map you will find clickable highlights. Most of these have an audio file attached so all you need do is click again to reach the audio and then listen.

We hope you enjoy this unique feature. Do let us know about your experience.  Here are a few examples of what you will encounter:

Ground Handlers Offering Pilgrimage

BPT logo

The British Pilgrimage Trust is a charity dedicated to renewing pilgrimage as a form of cultural heritage that promotes holistic wellbeing, for the public benefit.  It is the lead body for the development of the reawakened Wexford–Pembrokeshire Pilgrim Way and is working with their partners and a dedicated BPT pilgrimage officer to deliver local pilgrimage events (see Events for more details).

Guided Pilgrimage logo

Journeying is a not for profit organisation whose volunteer guides take small groups on walking tour holidays in an informal Christian ambience to the more off-the-beaten-track parts of Britain and Ireland. Hiking through beautiful parts of Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland, the history and heritage of these Islands is all around. The origins of Journeying lie in Celtic spirituality and pilgrimage is a thread woven through all that we do.

Guided Pilgrimage logo

Guided Pilgrimage is a not-for-profit travel company providing a range of Celtic pilgrimage experiences in West Wales. We are not overtly tied to any one faith but seek to enhance the spiritual nature of the pilgrimage experience within the wild Celtic landscapes.  Our trips vary from one day to eight days for private groups with tailormade arrangements to suit their interests and individuals booking on set departures.

Celtic Ways Ireland logo

Discover our shared Celtic past in Wales and Ireland with Celtic Ways Ireland (previously Waterford Camino Tours) through the unique perspective of tour designers Phil and Elaine Brennan. Phil, a nationally celebrated Musical Director with a PhD in Spirituality, and Elaine, with her background in Management, along with their team of guides, will do all that it takes to make sure you have the perfect ‘time-out’ wherever you chose to travel with them.

North Pembs Tours logo

Join North Pembrokeshire Tours for a pilgrimage on wheels – a unique pilgrimage opportunity ideal for faith groups of any tradition or religion, or for those seeking wellbeing by a process of guided reflection. The full day, using our minibus starts and finishes in Goodwick visiting places along the ancient pilgrimage route focused on the shrine in St Davids Cathedral.

Gallivanting logo

Gallivanting offer foraging and folklore walks in Courtdown Woods, an ancient woodland near Gorey, or elsewhere in South East Ireland.  You learn about how we were so aligned with nature in pagan times for the provision of food, medicines, weaponry and more and it is all mixed in with some fine Irish storytelling.
