Simply answer a few questions about your business to register for Pilgrim Friendly, Pilgrim Host or Host Plus. You will receive access to our downloadable guide and online guidance to help you attract pilgrims. Complete our quiz and receive your award.

PILGRIM FRIENDLY
Suitable for:
– Hospitality venues
– Tour Operators
– Guides
– Transport providers
Award: A short listing on the Wexford – Pembrokeshire Pilgrim Way website, including links to your own website. Pilgrim Friendly display materials, which includes a certificate and a window sticker.
Requirements: Businesses must offer their services on or within a reasonable distance of the route, and ensure their team has completed the Pilgrim Friendly guidance and quiz, provided online.

PILGRIM HOST
Suitable for:
– Accommodation providers
Award: Attract pilgrims to your business with a listing on the Wexford – Pembrokeshire Pilgrim Way website, including links to your own website. Pilgrim Host display materials, which includes a certificate and a window sticker.
Requirements: Businesses must offer their services on or within a reasonable distance of the route, and ensure their team has completed the Pilgrim Friendly guidance and quiz, provided online.
Cost: Free
PILGRIM HOST PLUS
Suitable for:
– Accommodation providers
Award: They are able to use the Pilgrim Host logo and are featured on this website with a full page for their property. The more pilgrim provision offered, the more prominent the position on the website.
Requirements: Businesses must offer their services within a reasonable walking distance of the route, or be reachable from the route via transfer. They must ensure their team has completed the Pilgrim Friendly guidance and quiz, provided online.
Additionally they must achieve 4 of the following 6 criteria:
– Accommodation available to book for one night only
– Able to coordinate transfers to/from pilgrimage route
– Take part in a luggage transfer scheme
– Provide packed breakfast or lunches
– Offer boot cleaning facilities
– Offer shared pilgrim breakfast table, enabling individuals to share their meal with fellow pilgrims.
Cost: Free for businesses joining before July 2023

- Pilgrims have bigger economic impact than regular tourist, with each pilgrim bearing the same economic impact as up to 2.3 domestic visitors.
- Pilgrims support the general economy, with each euro spent by a pilgrims generating up to 11% of additional output.
- Pilgrims support employment, with each euro spent by a pilgrim generating up to 18% of additional employment
- Pilgrims support local produce, with locally produced food and beverage services accounting for 61% of their expenditure compared to 26% in the case of non-resident tourists.
